THE ORIGIN STORY
Nicholas Piché is the founder of Castellan PR, a strategic communications firm specializing in brand fidelity and earned media for founders building toward a high-stakes moment.
Before founding Castellan PR, Piché spent fifteen years in professional communications across healthcare, education, and technology — moving from the nonprofit and public sector into an industry at the edge of something new.
In 2013, he joined Riot Games as a contractor during the ground-floor launch of their European esports offices in Cologne, helping bring live event production in-house as the company expanded internationally. It was an early signal of where he was most useful: organizations building something for the first time, in fast-moving environments where the communications infrastructure had to be built alongside the thing itself.
That thread ran through the work that followed. As Internal Communications Director at EPIC Charter Schools in Oklahoma City, he managed organizational communications through one of the most compressed periods of institutional growth in the school's history — the COVID pandemic transformed EPIC into the largest school system in Oklahoma, scaling from 30,000 to more than 63,000 students and from roughly 1,000 to over 2,200 employees within a single operational cycle.
Holding a consistent, credible internal narrative across an organization growing that fast, under that kind of pressure, is a different discipline than communications in stable conditions — and it is the one that most directly informs how Castellan PR thinks about brand fidelity.
Piché holds a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Colorado, with coursework grounded in strategic communications and social science research methodology — a background that shapes how he approaches communications problems: empirically, with an emphasis on what is actually true about an audience before deciding what to say to them.
He founded Castellan PR in 2025 with a specific conviction about how the industry misunderstands its own work. Most companies treat communications as a reactive service — something activated when there is news to announce. Piché believes it is infrastructure: the record, the narrative, and the consistency framework that determine whether a company is legible and trusted when the moment that matters actually arrives.
Castellan PR operates the Signet brand fidelity platform, used across all client engagements to monitor and maintain that consistency at scale.
